Description:
Made on a very similar evening to "Evening Over Dublin Bay", but about a year later. This image was taken from the cliff walk on Howth Head.
It had been a nice subtle sunset, and the moon was almost full. I saw it would pass over the Kish lighthouse as it rose, so I set up this composition and waited.
As in the ships in "Evening Over Dublin Bay", the small size of the lighthouse in the frame serves to illustrate just how small even an impressive structure like the Kish is in relation to the sea itself.
