Description:
Mullaghmore is a spectacular peninsula jutting into Donegal Bay off the coast of Sligo.
This image was made as part of the Viewpoints visit to North Mayo and Sligo in 2008. This little cove on the Western short of Mullaghmore was filled with small boulders, the sort that lend themselves very well to this sort of image.
I wandered around the beach for some time making various images before I came upon this composition. I quickly set up the camera and made a few exposures, as the light was just about gone.
The algae covered rocks in the foreground add interest and focus to the image, while the long exposure has smoothed out the wave action in the water.
Overall, a satisfying evening!
