Upper Lake, Glendalough, Co. Wicklow

Description:
The Upper Lake in Glendalough is one of the jewels in Wicklow's crown. Formed by glacial action, it is steep-sided and dramatic. When seen on a calm morning such as this, it is a truly serene place.

This image was made near the end of a shoot that started before dawn. The sun has risen behind me and has just started to burn off the mist, and the clouds have just parted briefly to allow a glimpse of the blue sky above.
