Description:
Skógafoss is one of the bigger waterfalls on the south coast of Iceland, and one of its most famous. It's very accessible - you see it from the ring road - and it has a very classical air about it.
This image was made on a cloudy day - the eruption plume of Eyjafjallajökull is visible in the top left of the frame. The indirect light reveals the detail on the cliff walls as well as in the falling water itself.
This is the first image I've published made with my new medium format digital system. The clarity and detail of even the smallest elements of the image must be seen in a big print to be believed.
