Description:
The first good, clear weather I'd had since the beginning of the trip to photograph the volcano Eyjafjallajökull was on my second-last night. To take full advantage, I spent the night in the valley, cat-napping in the car during rain showers.
There was low cloud all around, but for a few hours the volcano itself was clear. This is one of my favourite images from the night showing clear eruption detail and the ash plume blowing away to the East.
