Still Water, Raging Water - Crookhaven, West Cork

Description:
Made on the rocky south coast of the Crookhaven peninsula (see Crookhaven Peninsula, Mizen, Co. Cork for an overall view).

This was a stormy morning, although just a mild blow compared to the real storms that pass through here in the winter. The waves were crashing along the rocks rather impressively and the sun was trying to force its way through the lowering clouds.

I selected this composition because the contrast between the still water in the foreground pools and the rough water of the ocean appealed to me. The exposure was about ten seconds to get the sense of smooth motion in the water.
