💡 Peter's tip:

For a living room or above a sofa, Feature or Showcase sizes give the best impact. Unframed prints are perfect if you'd like to choose your own frame.

I was standing on the balcony of the Fastnet Lighthouse, eighty metres above the Atlantic, before anyone else in the kitchen below had stirred. First visit out there. That stays with you.

The Fastnet sits twelve kilometres off the West Cork coast, the most southerly point of Ireland. You get there by helicopter, landing on that small orange helipad perched on the rock beside the stub of the original 1850s lighthouse. The old base and the 1904 tower standing side by side on a tiny outcrop of rock in open ocean. Getting out there at all requires cooperation from the Atlantic, which is not something you can count on.

Dawn was building slowly that morning. Pink and warm above the horizon, still cold and blue overhead. I set a long exposure and let the sea do its work. All that violent energy around the base of the rock smoothed into silk by the extended shutter. The cloud was moving fast, streaking across the frame. Cape Clear Island sat faintly on the horizon.

What I remember most is the quiet. The sound of the sea constant but muffled at that height. The helipad below, the ruin of the old light, the whole rock feeling impossibly small against the water surrounding it. Not a dramatic morning. Just everything exactly where it needed to be!

We produce all our prints to order, so you can be sure you're getting the best quality work to hang on your wall. As a result, in busy times it can take a while to process the orders. In the worst case, which is generally during the peak months of July-September, it can take 4-6 weeks to receive large framed prints. Large canvases generally take 2-3 weeks. Unframed prints are generally also 2-3 weeks at worst.

We aim to get prints out as quickly as possible, so we would expect and hope that you would receive them earlier than the above timeframes. If you have a particular need to get a print quickly, please let us know in the order notes and we'll prioritize it for you, or you can email us at info@petercox.ie.

Prints are well-packaged and in the unlikely event that it arrives damaged, we'll send a replacement free of charge.

When your order ships, you'll receive an email with your tracking number.

Thanks for your trust, and we hope you get many years of enjoyment from your new print!

Saw this 7 years ago in Killarney in the gallery and should have bought it then. Bought it online this spring, and arrived quickly, with great communication! Has been framed, hung, and is being enjoyed! Even the framer said it was an AMAZING photograph!

This picture is magnificent in that it captures the essence of the Little Skellig Island. Every time I look at it over my sofa, I remember feeling grateful for traveling to Ireland and experiencing the way your photography mesmerized me.

I ordered Peter Cox's stunning photo of Small Skellig which now sits in my main foyer at home. I get as much enjoyment from looking at it every time I come home as I do explaining its origins to guests who remark and ask about it when they arrive!
