Made by Hand, Made to Last

Every print is produced individually in my studio, inspected for perfection, and signed before it leaves.

When you place an order, it begins a process I've refined over fifteen years. There's no warehouse, no mass production — just careful work, one print at a time. Here's how your photograph goes from screen to wall.

Watch how your print is made

1

Printing

Each photograph is printed on our large-format Epson printer using archival UltraChrome inks. The paper is Canson Platine Fibre Rag — a 100% cotton rag with a semi-gloss finish that preserves rich blacks and vibrant colour. You can expect it to look just as vivid in 70 years as it does today.

The paper: Canson Platine Fibre Rag is similar to the fibre-based papers used in traditional darkroom printing. The texture of the paper is preserved while allowing extraordinary tonal range.

2

Inspection & Signing

Every print is carefully inspected for defects. If any are found, the print is discarded and a new one is made. Once I'm satisfied, I sign each print personally.

3

Framing & Finishing

What happens next depends on the format you've chosen. Every format starts from the same master file, prepared and colour-profiled by me in the studio.

For unframed and framed prints, I print and sign these in my own studio. For framed prints, frame assembly is the most time-consuming part — glass or acrylic is fitted and cleaned, the mount board is placed, and the print on its backing board is added. We check for dust at every stage.

For gallery canvas and acrylic mounts, these require specialist equipment. They're produced by my specialist print partner to the exact colour profile and specifications I set. The quality of their output matches my own.

Shipped frames use acrylic, not glass. It's just as clear, actually more expensive, and eliminates the risk of breakage in transit. To date, we have never had a framed piece arrive damaged.

Dry mounting for flatness: Larger prints are dry mounted directly onto the backing board using a fully archival process. This ensures the print stays perfectly flat and doesn't shift in the frame over time.

Packaging

For unframed prints, I place the print face-down on acid-free tissue, carefully roll it, and insert it into a heavy-duty shipping tube. For framed prints, I build a custom box from scratch — tailored to the exact dimensions of your order and sturdy enough for rough handling.

Canvas and acrylic orders are packaged and shipped directly by our print partner using robust, purpose-built packaging designed for large-format artwork.

5

Shipping & Tracking

International orders ship via FedEx, Irish orders via DPD. You'll receive an email with your tracking number as soon as your order is dispatched. Most orders arrive within 2–4 weeks. If you need it faster, let us know in the checkout notes and I'll do my best.

A tip for unframed prints

When your tube arrives, we recommend not opening it at home. There's a risk of kinking the print. Take it to your local framer instead and open it for the first time with their help — they'll have the tools and space to handle it safely.
