I've been offering my photographs as acrylic prints for years. The print is face-mounted behind a sheet of 4mm acrylic glass, and the finished piece is one clean, glossy surface. The blacks go properly deep and the colour has real punch to it. Every photograph on this page links to its print.

How these prints are made

Each acrylic print is made to order - nothing sits in stock; the print is produced for you when you order it. It's printed with long-life inks, then face-mounted so the image sits directly against the back of the acrylic across the whole surface. A float-mount backing goes on behind that. There's no frame involved and nothing for you to do at the far end: it arrives ready to hang. Before anything ships, it's checked against my specifications, and if it isn't right, it gets reprinted.

The close-up here shows the corner of a finished piece lying face up, and you can see the whole build in that one edge - the polished acrylic on top with a bright line of light running along the cut face, the image bonded directly beneath it, and the dark backing panel underneath. It's the backing panel that does the floating once the piece is on the wall, holding it about 25mm out from the surface so the shadow falls in behind it and the edges read clean all the way round.

Once one of these is up, the first thing you notice is the surface. It's high gloss, edge to edge, with no frame and no border, so the image runs right out to a clean cut edge on all four sides. Bright, modern rooms suit them particularly well.

The two photographs below are the kind of colour I mean - a red dawn over Mount Errigal in Donegal, and the last light on still water at the Gearagh, a drowned forest on the River Lee not far from home.

Delivery

Because each acrylic print is made when you order it rather than pulled off a shelf, you'll want to allow two to three weeks from the day you order to the day it arrives with you. If it arrives damaged, let me know and I'll replace it at no cost to you.
