Image Licensing

I've been licensing my photographs of the Irish landscape for years alongside selling prints. If you've seen an image of mine you'd like to use, it's available to license.

What's available

Everything in my print catalogue is available to license. And there's more beyond the site - if you're after a particular headland, a lighthouse, or a stretch of coast, ask. There are plenty of images in my archive that never made it onto the site.

What they're used for

People license images for editorial use in books, magazines, and articles, for commercial work in advertising, packaging, and design, and for interior or display use, where an image goes up large on a wall rather than onto a page. That last one covers things like an image printed onto glass for a kitchen splashback by an outside fabricator. If your use doesn't fit neatly into any of those, ask anyway.

How pricing works

Each licence is quoted individually, because the price depends entirely on the use. Where it appears, how big it runs, how long you need it, and what territory it covers all move the number, so there's no rate card on this page. A magazine cover and a quarter-page inside aren't the same thing, and a five-year commercial licence across several countries isn't the same as a single editorial run.

Getting a quote

Email me at info@petercox.ie or use the contact form on the site. Tell me which image you're after, what it's for, where it'll appear, and how long you need it for. That's usually enough for me to come back with a number, and if I need more detail I'll ask.

I answer these myself, there's no licensing department here, and you'll usually hear back within a day.
