The photograph on this wall

Illauncreeveen, Glengarriff, Co. Cork
The photograph you're standing in front of is Illauncreeveen, a small island in Glengarriff Harbour, Co. Cork, and a very popular little swimming hole. I'd been out there several times before and never come away with a photograph I was happy with, until this calm evening in late May when there wasn't a soul in sight and the high cloud took the colours of the setting sun. Made on 25 May 2010.

About my work
I'm a fine art landscape photographer based in West Cork, photographing Ireland. The Peter Cox Photography Gallery is in Glengarriff, Co. Cork, the same village this photograph was made in. Every photograph I make is available as a print, in a range of sizes and finishes, from small prints up to very large Floating Panel and canvas pieces.
Photography for your own space
I also work with businesses on photography for their own spaces: offices, clinics, hotels, and reception areas. It usually starts with a conversation about the space and what you'd like on the wall. If that's something you're thinking about, I'd be glad to hear from you.
Letters from the Landscape
I write a newsletter called Letters from the Landscape, about the places I photograph and the work as it's made. You're very welcome to join it.
