Letters from the Landscape
A gibbous moon hangs in clear sky above the glacier, and the light has that particular blue tone you only get at the edges of the day in high latitudes. Everything is quiet. The water is flat calm, the air cold enough to sharpen every detail in the rock face.
I made this photograph deep inside one of Greenland's fjord systems, where the scale of the landscape is difficult to convey. The mountains and glacier in the background give some sense of it, but even they feel reduced by the sheer verticality of those walls!

Yes. A framed size is the whole frame, edge to edge: 3 inches bigger each way than the print inside it. An unframed size is the sheet of paper, including the white border where I sign and title each print by hand. Canvas and Floating Panel sizes are the face of the piece.
