Letters from the Landscape
Three Castle Head sits at the very southwestern tip of the Mizen Peninsula, about as far as you can go in Cork before there's nothing but ocean. The O'Mahony tower houses stand at the far end of a dark freshwater lake perched right on the clifftop above the Atlantic. It's an extraordinary setting from any angle, but from the air on this particular morning, the whole geography of the place revealed itself. How narrow and exposed the headland really is. How the land tapers to almost nothing, the sea pressing in from both sides.
Strong sunlight was hitting clean water at just the right angle, giving the Atlantic that deep teal colour. Cumulus clouds moved fast overhead, throwing patches of light and shadow across the headland, picking out field boundaries and the brown of last season's bracken against the green. White surf marks every edge where rock meets water. You can see the rock stacks at the tip where the cliffs have been carved back over centuries.
From the ground, you focus on the path, the castles, the lake. From above, you see a place being slowly reclaimed, field by field, wall by wall.

Within the EU there's no customs duty; outside it, any import duty or tax is the buyer's to pay.
Yes. A framed size is the whole frame, edge to edge: 3 inches bigger each way than the print inside it. An unframed size is the sheet of paper, including the white border where I sign and title each print by hand. Canvas and Floating Panel sizes are the face of the piece.
