Letters from the Landscape

The Skellig Islands seen from the Kerry coast as the sun drops toward the Atlantic. Skellig Michael on the left, Little Skellig on the right, both reduced to dark pyramidal silhouettes against that deep golden light. A single gannet caught mid-flight between them.

Crepuscular rays fan out from the sun where it sits low behind a band of cloud, and the warm haze softens everything across the water. The sea is remarkably calm here, which is rare enough looking west from Kerry. It gives the whole scene a weight and stillness that a choppy surface would break.

I've always loved how these islands look from the mainland at this hour. Fourteen kilometres offshore but they feel closer when the light flattens like this, pressing everything into layers of gold and black!

What does shipping cost?

Free on orders over €75. Below that, you'll see the exact cost at checkout before you pay. Every parcel is tracked and insured. Within the EU there's no customs duty; outside it, any local duty is the buyer's to pay.

Does the size include the frame?

Yes. A framed size is the whole frame, edge to edge: 3 inches bigger each way than the print inside it. An unframed size is the sheet of paper, including the white border where I sign and title each print by hand. Canvas and Floating Panel sizes are the face of the piece.
